Blue Lace Agate is a little more subtle than the others in this series. I developed a custom dye, mixed in-house, to match the blue-violet tones found in real life examples of blue lace agate. The dye is unique to the Pensmiths and can't be found anywhere else. I poured these blanks using a special technique that creates tight banding in an effort to recreate the banding you'd see on the actual gemstone.

My grandfather was a rockhound. He spent years exploring the country, hunting for rare minerals, rough stones, and hidden gems in every corner of the world. Years later, he loved sitting us down as grandkids, opening up his collections, and showing off his collection.
The Lapidary Series is my tribute to him, his passion for the God's natural art, and all the incredible rocks he shared with us over the years.
Using Alumilite resin, custom in-house pigments, and unique swirling techniques, I’ve done my best to recreate the brilliant hues, deep depth, and natural veining of some of the world's most iconic gemstones. Each blank in this collection is poured to capture the organic spirit of real stone—giving you the look of a hand-carved gem with the effortless turnability of Alumilite resin.
